Early Impressions
Today we are in the midst of another ‘newsageddon’ this time it is about a virus that we are supposed to fear. Last week was climate change theatrics and before that election fever – again, get your fear on and be very, very scared.
Of anything and everything.
Truth is, if we had to actually live our lives so afraid of so much – we would not get much done, sit around a lot of the time scanning stories on social media, eat poorly, drink too much, feel low about things and gradually become more and more stuck in our lives.
Wait….oh never mind, I forgot what I was going to say – a social media image of the latest ‘fear’ gripped my attention.
So, where was I?
Let’s start this again shall we?
This past few weeks I have taken to getting up a bit earlier – not an easy task for someone who is a life long poor sleeper. However, it has done me some good and I find the early hours quite refreshing.
I have so many memories of starting my day at 4 or 5 am years ago in my 20’s, going out to the barn to feed and water the animals and shoveling snow to get the truck out before I left for work. I loved those hours just before dawn for their sense of magic…
No other word even comes close to describing the impression of a new day.
And I want to experience this feeling more often.
Thus, my shift to starting off my day that much earlier, going outside that much more (it’s difficult to stay inside when you have animals to let out and a clinic down the lane way), as well as very deliberately encouraging other parts of myself to re-surface (cue shadow work).
I think that when we rise in the darkness of the day, it triggers a greater sense of awareness within us. More of us, or more parts of our being are tuned into our surroundings, our energetic imprint in the world is switched on to receive and decipher incoming information and we have an opportunity to delve more deeply into who we are.
That is quite something to wake up to! And so worthwhile – it’s also not as daunting as it sounds. Your body is such a capable spiritual biosphere, that it takes practically all of our energy to shut out the whisperings and longing of the Universe.
Which takes me back to all this crap hype in the airwaves. We need to work that much harder, but only in the beginning as we retrain ourselves to rise above the fear frequency and seek out those higher vibes that resonate with real life, passion, focus and love.
Perhaps this coming week we can all do things a little differently;
get up 20 minutes earlier
go outside immediately
notice everything around you
take 3 deep breaths
send out a thank you
If we seek to rise up, we first need to get up 😊
